To act as a citizen collaborative group, dedicated to empowering our community through active engagement at the local level. We strive to improve the implementation, integration, and coordination of local, state, and federal programs, with a singular focus on maintaining, enhancing, and restoring the social, cultural, economic, and natural resource bases within our community. By leveraging our collective efforts, we aim to create a sustainable and thriving environment that uplifts the lives of all residents.

Forestry Sub-Committee
Preserving local forests through a collaborative, landscape-scale approach. In Boundary County, we partner with the National Forest to promote sustainable ecosystems, education, and community-driven stewardship for a stronger future

Grizzly Bear
Sub-Committee
Protecting grizzly bears and their habitats through collaboration, community engagement, and education to support coexistence.

TMDL Sub-Committee
Total Maximum Daily Load
Collaborating with Idaho DEQ and the EPA to restore water quality and meet established environmental standards through a unified restoration plan.

WAC Sub-Committee
Wildlife Auto Collision

Burbot Sub-Committee
Retired*
Reducing wildlife-vehicle collisions through effective community engagement and collaboration with the Idaho Department of Transportation (IDT). The committee operates on a project-based model, convening only when needed.
The Burbot Restoration Project successfully revived the fish population in the Kootenai River through collaboration. Ongoing monitoring and adaptive management remain vital for the long-term sustainability of the burbot population.

A geographically tailored strategy for the Lower Kootenai Watershed, focused on objectives and priorities shaped by historical land use patterns.
